Dukefest 2010 was AMAZING!!! A new event was put on by C4 and it was sooo much fun!! It was a short sprint course around buoys and a small run up the beach to complete the race. I have watched events at Dukefest for years and this was BY FAR THEE BEST!!! the race was exciting, not because of Alika being in it as well as all our friends, but it simply was a great spectators event. The beach was screaming with excitement at each finishing!!! (even if nobody you knew was in that heat!!!)
Tiki , being hard headed WANTED TO TRY!!! told her many times its harder than it looks. after one buoy, she understood!!!

All smiles BEFORE the race.....not soo much after!!! only being 6, shes got more determination than most adults (me included!!)

Crazy days continue...Had a lovely birthday weekend...hubby got my fave hotel. it was up high and we got to be a part of the VIP room. free breakfast/appetizers/AND DRINKS!!! My girl is getting so big and we can hang out and have special times together. Alika paddled his heart out and did really well!!!

Our room was "city view". I was disappointed until I ACTUALLY SAW THE ROOM....not much city here!!!

Thank you dear hubby and I miss my blog!!!

Tsunami Entertainment....

Sat Morning, woke to a phone call @ 3:30AM. There was a huge earthquake in Chile and a Tsunami could possibly be on its way. We live in Hawaii....this occurs ALOT. most of us, don't BLINK when we hear it..THIS WAS DIFFERENT. Our Sirens, that are meant for terrorist warnings, Tsunami warnings....WARNING..went OFF. I have been here 16 years, and the ONLY TIME, these sirens go off is every 1st of the month. (for testing purposes). so there is no panic, no scary feeling...UNTIL NOW. This time, not only did we BLINK when they told us to get to high grounds...we listened!!

There is not much to do during the "waiting" of a Tsunami...most congregate and have a party ( no MATTER WHAT TIME IT IS...ITS A REASON TO PARTY)!! We went to a park , played soccer, volleyball, had races against each other....colored, I spy..boredom set it after a while. So Tiki entertained us. I have another video I will post next couple days....my silly family!!!

My daughter is 6....she had her first "I WILL NOT..." list.....ahhhh my nerves..

My girl has independence to a nuisance!!!! I admire it, glad she has it...but at times its a battle of TOO MUCH!!!

I love her unconditionally....beyond what I thought the human heart is capable of...but boy..TODAY I WAS TESTED BEYOND !! I know every parent (maybe for different reasons) feels like i did today, and if they DON'T...THEY ARE PROBABLY LYING (haha)....

It took every fiber of my mind to think of HOW TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE.. I GUESS THE STORK FORGOT MY PARENT MANUEL....so I am on my own with this.

I have TRULY tried various solutions...looked it up on the computer, books..

Of course a glass of red wine, some Gouda cheese is on my list of "How to handle..." EVERY SITUATION (hee hee) but as of now...no wine OR cheese in the house...so shes tries this for the first time and my wine is replaced to WHINE ON MY BLOG!!! Thanks for listening and by tomorrow I will gaze into her eyes as she says "I love you Mom" and this too shall pass.

I had to take her picture this way...because if she smiles...you cant tell she just lost TWO teeth!! Well....she didn't actually lose two teeth...they were PULLED! Her two new ones were coming in already IN FRONT of her others. took her to the dentist and said they should pull them. I said if she shes a needle IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!! Dentist is a girl and she is gooooood!!!! Tiki had NO CLUE what was going on until it was over...then dentist told her she wiggled them & came out....and her face seeing the $$$ from toothfairy PRICELESS!!!!

Had a photo shoot today. Found out not only is she with a BEAUTIFUL young girl from Hilo, who now lives in Japan & models strictly there...she got to have a DOG with her. OH LORD...if you know my daughter, this was horror for me. ALL SHE WANTED TO DO IS PET, & PLAY with the DOG!!! Poor girl neeeeeds a dog...hmmm I would love Santa to give her one, but we aren't allowed where we live....sooo deprived.

After numerous pictures.....She does the "PEACE" sign...cracking up the photographer & other girl....( In Hawaii, when you live here, and are down at the beach as much as we are and see Japanese tourist...they ALWAYS give the peace sign!!! Like Hawaiians always give the "Shaka". That's why they laughed soo hard!!

In between camera shots & reloading the camera, someone would give them shade..Tiki didn't understand it, she kept saying , I can hold it for you, you don't have to do it for us!!!

My wreath is fresh, and smells sooo good, that I haven't been in a mad rush to get my tree! In my house , that is unusual....the tree is up as soon as possible!! But by Christmas, it smells burnt and has lost that "lovin" smell.

At our local store, they were selling wreaths. My husband says...You want one?! hmmm....we NEVER HAD ONE..SURE. But Im going to be selfish here..is it appropriate to put it on the INSIDE OF THE DOOR??!! Why should I buy a REAL (nice smelling) wreath only to be put outside that maaayybe people can seeeee, but cannot smell!!!! WHAT A WASTE!!!

So, do your family a favor....go AGAINST the grain, and put your wreath on the inside !!! Every time you leave & come home....you'll be glad you did!!!!

Before we head out to NYC, we are taking a family trip to Cali!!! Can't wait to see my Brother, nephews & nieces....FAMILY...My very best est friend is excited too...

So, my husband wakes up one morning and says " I had a dream" Rarely does he share this information with me..so my attention is quickly fixated on him...

He says " I had a dream that for Thanksgiving I bought us tickets to New York so you can see the Macy's day Parade .."

I sat there , with my eyes wide open, mouth open. Is this a JOKE?!! he KNOWS that is a DREAM for me!!! That's MY DREAM, WHY IS HE DREAMING IT..HAHAH.

Then I say..."WOW, that IS A COOL DREAM!!" just in case he is testing me...I know that is something he has always wanted to do too... Maybe God was placing it on his heart....Either way, there isn't a year that goes by that during Fall, winter, I want to be in New York City. I've sworn to my readers, (I think every year) that its GONNA HAPPEN..

Life happens, and next thing you know...I'm posting yet AGAIN, that I would rather be in NEW YORK, during holidays!!

Man, does it goes fast!!! Every year it just creeps up upon us.....I am soo thankful, I have a wonderful family, the friends that I have had for 30 yrs, 20 yrs, 2 yrs. etc...have been good ones...family from across the United States, some I've only met few times, some never met. Yet I still feel soo thankful for them and let are a part of my life.

God is good, and I am thankful , thankful for HIM in my life....love ones gone, I am thankful that I was part of their lives and they mine!!!

Count the blessings, not what you don't have. You suddenly realize how MUCH YOU DO HAVE!!!

She DID IT!!! I guess I'm more amazed at the Stand up Division. This is something she "tampers" with but doesn't practice on any level....she battled over 16 girls ( RANGING 4-12yr olds) and just AMAZED her dad & I. I really want to upload some video of her stand up heat, but don't quite know where all the connections for computer are..We know God has blessed her with athletic abilities, but when that horn blows & she has a jersey on...she becomes AN ATHLETE!!!

Getting the 411 on the rules of todays contest.....she was in two surf divisions...Stand Up Paddling...and 4-6 yr old long board....

Her partner on land & sea (and Calender!!!)

CLICK ON IMAGE.. her first heat was Stand up paddling (her 1st time competing) and she came in 2nd place!!!(and advancing to tomorrows FINALS!!) the kid who won....was 12 yrs old.

Her second heat was 4-6 yr olds...she came in first making it to Semi finals....Semi Finals she came in 1st place....advancing to FINALS TOMORROW!!! Obviously being in the finals is awesome, but everyone is sooo good...harder to come in 1st or second...just being IN the finals is INCREDIBLE...we teach her that 6th IS JUST AS GREAT AS FIRST.... and win or lose, always go high five the other competitors and tell them "good job!" will post video.....

HAWAIIAN FOOD!!! I loooove the food...I'm cooking Kalua Pig & cabbage, lau lau & lomi salmon (which looks very similar to salsa...but with chucks of salmon in it)..and for desert...HAUPIA SQUARES!!! ( the white square things at the bottom of the picture...its like coconut pudding but more firm) . WILL GET MAJOR BROWNIE POINTS FROM THE HUBBY!! (haha). Any way, will be enjoying the luau at the Willis'!!!

Currently working in a position that leaves the teacher like this....or one of her Aids. I'm working with behavioral students, which when meeting them they seem like normal frustrated kids...rolling of the eyes, sassy talk back...UNTIL the REAL BAD comes out in them. Some need medication, yet are soo angry they throw the pills across the room ...( can't force them). THEN YOU KNOW WHERE & HOW YOUR DAY IS HEADING...It has actually been a blessing working with these children. They have taught me alot. I can come home with a grin from ear to ear from having such a awesome day with them, and the next ....they are mean, throwing things, temper mental...Although I have to "go through " that for the hours I'm working...its NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT THEY LIVE THROUGH DAY TO DAY...Yes, they have taught me wayyyy more than Im teaching them!! That's where FAITH comes in...in my quiet breath, I pray for these kids...pray for their families...go home & huuuuug my baby girl !!!

Went off Island to ANOTHER island....to visit Papa & Grandma, uncles. Had a wonderful time, weather beautiful...I took a video of Tiki because I can't get over how much of a water girl she is.. she dives in without hesitation..big dark boulders underneath her..( she can see them). All i heard was the "JAWS" theme the further she swam out!!!! I WOULD NEVER, DO THIS AT 5yr old. I was very hot filming this...you think I would jump in at 40-something (haha)!!! NO WAYS...YOU GO GIRL!!!

Your working more muscles to just BALANCE on the dang thang..#2. if there are no waves, you can paddle around with your girlfriends for miles and STILL get a great workout! #3. FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

This is her Month. I didn't get enough calendars for free... as much as I wanted so I took a picture of the picture in the calender. The quality is not great, just so you can see how it turned out!!

Her friend from the beach ( who is 4) was also in the calender and she was WAY MORE EXCITED to see her friend , not caring that she was in it herself!

She had to autograph her picture for the photographer.....she thought that was kinda cool!

Back to school Monday....whew....I can't wait! All Moms can understand that one. Aloooooohaa!

I received an email from the photographer saying to pick up calenders he promised. not sure how many they will give...I believe she may be in JULY. (MY BDAY MONTH!!!) OK so i haven't posted something for a really long time!!! Blame it on ....alot of reasons, busy, not blogging ( but I always look at all my favorites !!) I promise, I can't do too much. I read on MSN page that if your always face booking...you have toooo much time on your hands!! which i kinda agree with, but i love keeping in touch...I guess I feel with FB AND a blog, I will have completely neglected my kid, husband, home. so therefore I have only been doing one at a time. I KNOW if i get rid of FB, I would come wholeheartling (?) to blogging.....we'll see.

Well, here they are!!! Now, I have to say....these are VERY UNFLATTERING pictures of me, but damn it, I DON'T CARE!!! I DID IT!!! so that's me in the red visor (in the middle ) and Alika & Tiki on the far right (shes sitting) Yes it was 3.5 miles DOWN THE OCEAN. In this picture you wouldn't know it, but the wind was facing me HEAD ON. I barely moved. About 100 people finished after me....I hope to have a better time next year & 15 pounds lighter !!! Alika looking at me, encouraging me as I'm WHINING "OH THE WIND.....I CAN'T DO IT..."

When we finished we all had to run up a steep sand dune ( as though I haven't had enough already..) & the anklet Tiki is sporting gives our number for our times.

Finally, thee grand finale of the day....they had a kids 5-12yr olds competing in a Paddle, Run, Swim events. Tiki wanted to sign up for paddling.

Her age division was 5-6 yr olds. they had to lay on surfboards and paddle ( like your catching a wave) from one buoy to the other AND BACK!!! She won a gold medal for her time in her AGE!!!! she doesn't have her medal on in this picture...I think her dad was looking at it.

Alika has paddled, surfed, swim...he owns NO METAL OR AWARD saying "WAIMEA BAY winner" HE is beyond stoked!!!

(Waimea bay usually in Dec has 25++++ waves...look how flat it is in the summer) I didn't have my camera so I don't have any pix of her event.

4th of July was different this year! My husband usually does this race (only 3.5 miles). This year, he wanted to do it ALL TOGETHER...AS A FAMILY!!! Tiki & Dad on one board, and me on my own...ON MY OWN...AHHHHH!!! when the flag went down, I started decent. about 2 miles in...I kept thinking "WHAT WAS I DOING THIS TO MYSELF FOR??!?!!" My friend be FORE the race was nervous ...blaming me..."HOW, did i let you talk me into this???" SHE FINISHED BEFORE I DID!!! AWESOME. Pregnant moms, doing great , little kids...about 400 contestants. My time??? 49:56 not great by any means....but I DID IT!!! I didn't realize that it is harder than it looks. worse part was , in the finishing stretch, the winds were blowing me back.. i wanted to paddle on my knees, but I could just hear Tiki , "MOM, KEEP TRYING!!!" so, i didn't. Alika was gracious enough to go along side me. Him & Tiki could of been done soooo fast, but he wanted to cross the finish line TOGETHER!!! Had a AWESOME DAY!!! Tiki took pictures , but i didn't give her my water camera, we bought a "old fashion" one that i actually have to turn in & get developed!!! HOW ODD!! :)

I'm not sure how to put this..but a friend of mine had introduced me to FaceBook, ( you know who u r.. :) ) and since then I have slacked on my blog...which i truly enjoyed. Facebook kinda took over and then we couldn't even communicate on it.... sooo for those of you who read my blog (past or present), i've thought about deactivating Facebook so I can go back to blogging.....just a thought... I guess i thought i could do both,...but i cant.....and besides, I find myself on the computer more than ever SINCE FB. My family probably wishes I never started..............

Saturday's waves were very big . Although she does well lately on "bigger" waves, it was beyond her experience. So she went in her heat ( with Daddy next to her) and did really goood. She was not able to advance because Daddy helped...but I didn't care....SAFETY FIRST. she could care a less which place she came in. she just loves the whole scene... (seeing her name on a heat sheet, them calling her name, then surfing...)

Then they had 12 tandem ( with your kid) teams and Tiki & Alika came in 2nd place..so fun for both of them, and was really fun for us to watch!!

This weekend is a contest that is put on every year for KIDS ONLY...ranging 5-14. It is a truly fun event, and besides all the surfing going on they have games giving away prices, and just sooo fun . (Last year she won the Wii...playing a balloon game) all the parents enjoy hanging out & the kids of course get to get a little competitive , but have FUN with it.....I hope all our gang does well, but most of all....that all the kids are SAFE!!!! will post pictures next week of the event.

She finally did something OTHER than go to the BEACH!!! they had a kiddie rodeo....it was small, but she had gigantic FUN!!! Weather was hot & muggy, as I looked at my husband and said "no wonder were always at the beach & in the water".

wasn't long before she was petting the horse, then waving as though she was in a parade...she was only mimicking when she HAS SEEN HORSES...in parades through town with beautiful Hawaiian ladies dressed so nicely as they wave...

My Baaaaaby Hakau..(Teri's middle boy). Here he is at prom. The pretty girl is a long time friend of his, she is beautiful. I don't have a "prom picture" YET...but hopefully he doesn't forget about me!! It just seems like yesterday he was 2 years old and following me everywhere. I used to pretend he was my SON!!! I took him to the store, beach, and people would say "Oh he's soo adorable!...is that your boy?" and proudly I would say "he SURE IS!"

I still try to get away with it...now he looks @ me and laughs like I'm the Auntie who "lost it"!

Derby pick

My Daddy ALWAYS took me to the track....I love EVERYTHING about horse racing!!! I think of my Daddy during the Kentucky Derby, since he was from Kentucky & looooved his horse racing. Today, as always, I will choose my pick for the Derby. Now, I said I love going to the horse races...I didn't say I'm good at PICKING THEM!!!
My 1st instinct was to go with...."HOLD ME BACK". I am familiar with Kent Desormeaux. we used to watch him race @ Santa Anita track. so it holds close to my heart.
Alika's choice: "General Quarters"
In memory of my Dad...I will choose "Dunkirk"...not as though that would be HIS choice, but he did teach me "if there is a GREY horse...always bet on it!" as though it was good luck or a magic tip. I was looking through the horse's and saw this grey one and ....I just HAD TO!!!
Tiki's choice: Non other than...."Chocolate Candy"!! surprising huh?! Actually looks like a good horse. Good luck to all playing the Derby!!!!

Today my hub stayed home...to SURF!! He was really bummed cuz he said the waves were small. This is his new C4 board and even though the waves were not a solid 6ft. + he still had fun!!! A Bad day (small waves) surfing is STILL better than a GREAT DAY AT WORK!! :))

The best part is he did all the laundry FIRST! nice surprise!!!

Then he took Tiki out when he was done. Not on ones this size, but HUGE for her & she killed it!!! I was sooo shocked at how good she did...i was speechless!! I kept wanting her to come in....( I, of course, was terrified at other people hitting her & falling off her board as she has to swim to it while waves are CRASHING ON TOP HER...) SHE WAS HAVING A BLAST!!! I kept saying "one more & come in....." No body listens to Mommy!!!! I PRAY HEAVILY while she's out there...TRUST ME!! I wish I had a video of her waves today. Probably good idea I didn't...you would just hear me in the background FREAKING OUT, PANICKING!!!

I know i have been neglecting my blog, but my BOD has been neglected too!!! & first things first! went to the gym so now I can sit on my Okole!!! ( Hawaiian word for "Butt" )

But I AM EXCITED for the local Rodeo coming. .(May 16Th). I can't wait to take my girl, they have pony rides...she's NEVER even PET a horse, let alone SIT ON ONE!!! I will have some exciting photos to capture that one!!!

This weekend we went to a event where this company called "Fitted" launched there hat line. Apparently these hats are $50.00+. who would PAY FOR THAT. but there concept is they make 50 or 100 hats of ONE design and THAT'S IT..they don't duplicate it EVER. so its a collectors item....cool concept, i guess. Of course my daughter scored a freebie....(kids size).

At the event, WORLD CHAMP SURFER Keanu Asing was giving his board away..... Keanu is 15 and RIPS!! Tiki is mad about him!! she thinks he is such a cuuuuutiie!!!! I'm glad shes only 5....Im NOT READY FOR HER CRUSHES FOR REAL!!!!

I caught this precious moment...I bought Alika a Ukelele for Valentines..yes NOT EVERY Hawaiian knows how to play an Ukelele!!!!! Tiki sat next to him and has NO CLUE what the words are to the song, ( if you listen to her, she's MAKING UP as though she knows the song ;) So.....with this in mind...it's a bit slow & uncomfortable, but I'll show you the finished product of when HE learns the Uke & SHE learns the words...together , they will make beautiful music TOGETHER!!!

Our beloved fish of 2 years died yesterday. During the day, I saw all the signs that the end was near. All I kept thinking about was Tiki's reaction. Us mom's KNOW...anytime a pet is involved...YOU, not the kids, not the husband...YOU take CARE OF IT!! So I begged, prayed, that "Coco" would pull through. Every morning I would talk to him (as though I was talking to a 2 yr old..with that same high pitch goo-goo, gaa-gaa talk) and he would wag sooo happily towards me as though he understood EXACTLY what I just said...Well, IRONICALLY, Tiki wants to "feed" Coco TONIGHT!! Never asks before (maybe this is a beginning to her woman's intuition)so I had the task of telling her that Coco doesn't...um.....well, hmmm...HE REALLY ISN'T HUNGRY!

The tears flow like the good ole Mississippi River!!!! NOW she looooves Coco, and misses him...( I wanted to partly LAUGH...you pass him everyDAY without any acknowledgement, and...well it was all too cute...drama and ALL)

Death. How to talk about to your 5 year old? Just jump in I thought. I positively announced that NOW he is in HEAVEN with all our dear friends, her grandparents...it ALL GOOD!! She said she wants to PRAY. She leads...(through major tears of course) "Dear God, please help Coco!! and let him be Uncle Kevyns pet now ( as her thought switches now to Uncle Kevyn...she cries uncontrollably!) ..." oh GOD, let Uncle Kevyn come back , cuz I REALLY NEED HIM RIGHT NOW"!!! I don't know whether to laugh or CRY.. now she's looking sooo sad!!! we both cry now for Coco and Uncle Kevyn.......this is never a easy talk..

I'm a huge movie buff, and I truly enjoy watching the Oscars every year, but I missed this one. A good friend is in town and we caught up!!! It was worth the miss. Traditionally I make a nice ( usually Italian) dinner...and watch it. It was nice to hear that Heath Ledger won....its unfortunate that he missed out not only on the Oscar, but his little girl which is worth WAAAY more than a Oscar. I also didn't get a chance to see all the movies that were nominated. I think for me its more enjoyable to "know" what there talking about!!!

Sione ( Teri's youngest...on the right) joined the football camp!!! Its for 6 weeks and the 1st week THEE TROY P... (Sione's all time favorite player EVER!) was throwing a football during practice to HIM!!! I am sooo happy for Sione...this will change him FOREVER!!!

This is Nahe, and daring enough to put this crab in her MOUTH!! It was just crawling all over her hand and she wanted to see if it would start crawling in her mouth....aaahh these kids ( and the auntie who take pictures INSTEAD of yelling NO!!) HEHEEEE.
Within minutes of Nahe's crab adventure, they caught a PUFFER FISH on the shoreline. it was dead, but they must of played with it for half the day. Tried to put it back in the water, only for it to float back to the shore.

So, Tiki pulls me on the dance floor ALL NIGHT long!!! It was kid friendly ...all ages were there. It was a launch party for my friends new magazine geared for KIDS surfing . There are sooo many mags with all the adults doing it, he really wanted to focus on all the "up & coming" surfers...the kids get sooooo stoked when they see an article about them , or pictures of them surfing and it just SHOWS up in a magazine...pretty fun for them.

Once a year quicksilver puts on the Big wave in memory of Eddie Aikau. The waves HAVE to be 25 feet + to go on. Last time it went off was 2004. The purse gets bigger all the years it DOESN'T go off. so the winner of this contest for riding 2 ( of the biggest & best) wave could give someone $80,000.00+ hmmm.....time to wax my board...NOT!!! and NO Alika does not participate in these....money is nice, but you have to be ALIVE to spend it!! Well, we did the chuck e. cheese thang sun, now ON her bday, we have a tradition. We go to the hospital ( where she was born) and go have dinner in the cafeteria...then off we go to see all the babies that were born on her bday. Its a silly thing we do, but the hospital is actually soooo festive during this time. When i gave birth carolers sang in my doorway, kids played violins soo beautifully....so we go back for the WHOLE experience!!! I know this won't last long with her...but we've done it for 5 years and she absolutely gets soooo excited to see all the babies!!! the one blurry picture is to show you Alika got up SUPER early and decorated the whole house in streamers & balloons...smile from ear to ear.

I'm usually in bed by 9pm. It was Saturday nite and man i felt like being a rebel !!! I was going to stay up ALL night and watch t.v. until 4am!! It has been raining for 3 days, after hours and hours of shopping, dodging the rain, playing in the rain, I got cozy and was determined to watch something romantic....

I turn the channel to see "Legends of the fall". Was I in the mood for it?? I've seen it...but there is something DIFFERENT here. MY HUSBAND WASN'T CONTROLLING the REMOTE!! IT WAS MY DECISION to watch this "cowboy" movie. If my hubby had turned it on, I probably ( just being honest here)_ would of rolled my eyes and made a comment something to the tone of "Isn't "YOU'VE GOT MAIL" or "SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE" ON???!!! But, I made the decision. (Believe me, Brad Pitts, long , golden hair and baby face with pouty lips ...had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT)....alright, I'm on a truth role...IT DID. I'm NOT a Brad Pitt fan, but he looks and ACTS really good in this film. It had romance, war, family issues and just was FABULOUS. So girls , if your like me and don't "think" you can get into this film....(just by the look of it) WATCH IT....IT'S A GOOD MOVIE. and there is beauty in the film location, and beauty in all the actors!!!! Have fun!!

This morning had a photo shoot on the complete other side of the island....drove in the dark for an hour to a super cool house in the North Shore. The funny part of the whole thing is that we live on a island and were doing a shoot for FALL. so here are all these cutie kids....IN SWEATSHIRTS, JACKETS, BOOTS... (sweating!!!) .as soon as each take was done....they're all taking their shoes off, jackets. soooo not used to warm clothes or anything more than a bathing suit!!! Next change was a dress...she loved that ( cooler & it twirls). Soon as it was over, clothes off, bathing suit back on.....but the zzzzzzzzzzzz's took over :)

Every time we have a contest, she seems to be in the opening heat...(8am) the water is COLD HERE that early in the morning.....she doesn't complain, she can't get in fast enough. She didn't advance this time, but she didn't mind. She went straight to her friends to play in the sand!!

This was fun times @ Rell Sunn's contest. Waves were pretty big, but 4-6 yr olds HAVE to have an adult WITH THEM. Girls showing muscles and boy showing....well, being goofy!!! hmmm , thats alittle backwards isn't it?

They did the Boogie Board division which they never have done!

Any activity in the water with Daddy is gooood for her!

There was a Hawaiian man named Eddie Aikau. He was a life guard on the North Shore and became famous for saving lives and riding humongous waves. They built a double hull voyage canoe to sail to the Tahitian Islands only to find out that near the Hawaiian Island Molokai the canoe sprang a leak. Eddie took off in the dark with a surf board to go get help and was NEVER SEEN AGAIN. Every year when the N. shore gets 25 ft or more they hold a " Eddie would Go" BIG WAVE RIDING CONTEST. I saw it when Tiki was 1 and they haven't held it since ( waves never got big enough!) This Saturday might go off. It is TRULY amazing to watch!!! and whoever (survives) wins....gets $ 50,000.00!!! Thank God it's INVITATIONAL ONLY, cuz Alika would go.....:)

Went to see this movie....first off....I wouldn't recommend this if your easily offended by vulgar language, sex scenes...

A movie to me that has the F-word is kinda senseless. This movie, every OTHER word was F,F, F.!! I wouldn't say the word bothers me as much as WHEN & WHY you have to say it soo much. Some people think it's necessary to make comedy somehow funnier when you over USE the word. NOT TO ME. lack of creative writing if you ask me. I'm not sure if it's because Bernie Mac & Isaac Hayes passed away right after this movie...but there was SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I laughed at Bernie Mac's expressions, Samuel Jackson is always a favorite....and there was a twist of irony in the WHOLE movie....

It didn't get good reviews ( I can understand why in many parts) but Me & Alika liked it....still trying to figure out exactly WHY!!

Other night it was raining, cozy, and Alika had a CPR class. Me & my baby HAD to watch "Polar Express" and we got all excited about Christmas. Here in Hawaii, we don't get snow, it gets cooler...but not much indication that Christmas is near, other than walking through Costco & seeing all the decorations. So we treat ourselves to movies to inspire the fact that it is that time!! At least until "Rudolph the red nosed reindeer" comes on t.v. :)

Did anyone watch Oprah yesterday??!!! Jennifer Aniston was on TRYING to promote her new movie , when she STILL gets bombarded with questions about Brad & Angelina. GET OVER IT!!! It infuriates me that this happened YEARS AGO, and every time she gets in front of a interviewer they have to ask "how you doing?!". I'm sure it had to be a most PAINFUL time of her life and bringing it UP all the time makes it hard to "get on" with her life. Shes soo pretty, charming, she has more to offer than letting us know "hows shes doing?!". My favorite line she said yesterday when Oprah kept BUGGING her about whether she DID make the comment about Angelina....she finally simply said "It's just my opinion". she didn't know it would get scrutinized AGAIN sooo much .

I'm really happy for Obama!!! Living in Hawaii with such a wide range of Nationalities....has definetly made me colorblind. I DO remember living & growing up in California and FEELING the prejudice....I never had it. My best friend was a black girl in high school....but my friendship stopped when the bell rang. I did not feel comfortable bringing her to my house!!! ( for fear of what everyone else would think or say, not cuz I didn't want her there) or neighborhood for that matter. But she was such a dear girl, funniest person, and a heart the size of Texas!!! People come in Good AND Bad, color has NOTHING to do with it!!!! It truly starts AT HOME!!! Passing things down from generation to generation & without REALLY knowing a person. History was made.....to think that "the white people" wouldn't even let them EAT in the same building .....Pay back is a B*&#% !!!! This is her classmate. He name is Kyan and I wanna adopt him...he is soooo cute!! He has a raspy voice & always says..." I love P.E." ( I'm his p.e. teacher) and when I ask him "why, whats your favorite activity we do..?" He gets quite and re-thinks what & how to say what he means.....Then he always says "I LOVE YOU!!!" awww my heart!!

TIKI DOES!!!!! Went to dentist yesterday, and she just gets way too excited about it. It is a GIRL dentist which makes ALL the difference (shes compassionate, caring, & talks to you).

a "tooth fairy" with wings comes out to the waiting room & picks the kids up!! Then after its over, they apply sparkly lip gloss to make you feel like a princess!!! Any parent that has to take a kid to a dentist is apprehensive. Thanks to hers, its a goooood trip! P.s. she took a x-ray of her teeth and said 6 -12 months her new teeth will be coming in....this is what I heard...

"Your daughter is growing up soo fast, that before you know it, she wont need you, probably won't like you, and definitely won't want to hang out with you!"

Yeah , I know, I probably read too much into that.....ya think?!!

This is from Last weekend!!! My friend Ashley, had a birthday and we got a room at the Marriott , and had a very fun sleepover.. started of at Sansei sushi ( after hours of having pupus & drinks in the room) and the sushi there is fantastic!!! After stirring up some noise over there, we headed off to Tiki's grill.

These are the girls that go stand up surfing with me. We actually have a "thing" going on, that I mentioned and now is being put together!!! South shore girls against North shore girls.....you should see the North shore girls!!! they are all 6 ft. and STACKED with muscles....Thank God , it is all for fun!! I will post those after our get togethers!

I first suggest TURNING DOWN YOUR VOLUME !!! The screaming is NOT ME!!! Its a very happy cousin filming...

She started to sit down, which I thought meant she was DONE with this wave, but instead pulled off The Cockroach!!! ( when you lie on your back and wiggle your arms & legs like a cockroach who just got on his back!) She has NEVER done this except on a floating board for "fun", but NEVER ON A WAVE!! I was shocked!!!

The waves were perfect for her. I had thee worst sore stomach while she was out....as soon as it was over, it was quite a relief. Alika was out there to Push her on the wave, but she caught this one herself !!!!

Remember this one??!!!! ( for those who have followed my blog.....) This was her 1st. time surfing ( on her own). 3 yr old.....
4 years old!!!!! She used to be goofy foot....but I told her it was easier how & where to stand..."look at Diamond Head"...and thats how she stands now. I was watching this, and a uncle of hers snapped this shot. She dodged 2 people in inner tubes that got in her way, by turning. in one year she has really grown.

And this is Daddy giving her a ride to her chariot!!

SCHOOLS OUT!!!! yaa hooooo. I don't know who is more excited, the kids or ME!! Me guarantee.

On my list of things to do....

#1. Going with friends to Maui on our friendly Superferry ( with the price of flying...this has been doing well. It takes 3 hours instead of 45 min of flying..but hey! Gotta do, whatch gotta do! and with others it will be fun!)

#2. Going to surf new spots!!!! Bringing our cars and loading them up with boards. Wild!

#3. Not clean... or cook! Not that I do either one alot. But I AM making a nice meal tonight!!!

#4. See and old friend before I whisk off to another Island!

#5. See MOVIES!

#6. Do a whole lotta laughing with my crazy friends!!

#7 . Who cares.........I'M OFF!!!

Today is a big day!! Tiki has testing to go to a Hawaiian school that is a huge school & what every parents dream of a school would be!! It is a private school K-12 ( worth $15,000 a year but only cost $2,000 ) made for kids with Hawaiian ancestry left behind by Princess Pauahi Bishop. In her Will she wanted the Hawaiian kids to have an opportunity, that they normally wouldn't have, to go to a private school.

There have been a couple of kids ( should I say their parents) who are Caucasian and have sued the school for discrimination. You can look at it that way....BUT the school IS IN HAWAII & it IS IN HER WILL. I don't think Hawaiians are discriminating.....they are just full filling a written last wish.

Some parents are fanatic about getting their kids into this school (drilling them, practicing day & night).. ... me? I would looooove her to get into this beautiful school, I help her with homework and just let God be the guide of things. Not taking her to try and get in is like holding a Lottery Ticket and NOT playing.

I know this is "part" of choosing the right candidate....but at the same time folks....it sounds JUST LIKE MY KINDERGARTNERS TATTLING ON EACH OTHER. And we as adults argue OVER & OVER how to teach the kids how NOT to SLANDER EACH OTHER & talk nicely...only for them to go home and hear it from grown adults...kinda confusing to ME!!

A debate is one thing....saying it with a tattletale attitude & slandering is JUST WRONG coming from grown ups!!!!!
