This weekend had it's High's and it's Low's!!!

Alika entered "China's Surf contest". He has entered sooo many times, and this is one he won't forget. In the past he has been at a heavier weight ( 235+..sorry hon ) and he won that division, but never felt it was " winning" because it was the "Chunky" division. This year he said "IM WINNING THE 40-49yr old division ( sorry again hon)!! (he's now 210...) ( boy if this was a womans weight I'm blabbin about, I'd be in alot of heat). He is now able to compete with the elite surfers. He got out there and ripped it up!!! I was like a chick watching the lead singer in a band...I couldn't of been more a groupie!!! ( he actually shocked me how AWESOME he was doing) I was like.....THAT IS MY HUSBAND???? Aaauuuuuuuu BABAY!!!! THATS MY HUSBAND!!! Those who know him well ( as a person & a surfer ) were equally impressed as his heat continued. He made it through to the next round, he came in 2nd. Finals were up, I was soooo nervous FOR HIM, I almost couldn't watch ( what kind of supporting wife would I be if I turned & walked away??). His last heat, all his friends myself, sister....WATCHING. Every wave he got on, he'd do a trick & EAT IT! OH MY NERVES!!! Catch another wave, sort of do okay, and EAT IT..ok remember I said what kind of wife would I be if I turned and walked away??? Your about to find out....I TURNED & WALKED AWAY.....I'm practically in tears....he IS SOOO SUCKING I CANT WATCH IT....walked back to my sister & was saying HE WANTED THIS SOO BAD....HE'S DOING TERRIBLE!! She goes, gosh your a bit hard.....I go Look there is is....( he wiped out again as I pointed).. she goes Dina he's not in the WHITE SHIRT...HE'S IN GREEN!!! ( They all wear a colored rash guard so judgs know who is who) I was watching the WRONG GUY his whole heat. "Buuurrrrrrr" the horn blows....Oh, I'm such a blonde!!! What the hell was I DOING???!!!! He came out of the water like a high school boy, grining ear to ear ( he normally down plays when he does anything good, so to see his face was soo depressing to me)

Yes I'm a wimp ( always emotional one way or another) I had tears in my eyes & he said "how did I look????" Do I tell him GREAT!!! & run away??? Do I say he's got a dorky wife?? I brace him for the truth...he LAUGHS!!! so now I ask him....."how'd ya do?" Confidently says I was pretty good Dina, I think I finally won. We dont know for hours at the ceromony.

In the meantime Tiki has come down with a nasty cough, cold thing.....They're passing out awards....They need all contestants in his heat on stage so they can say who won. He's holding Tiki...I go babe, give me her...they are calling your name...1, 2, Tiki throws up ALL OVER HIM FOR what seemed 2 whole minutes worth of liquid" In the backround " Does Anyone know where Alika IS??" I yell " coming". He runs to a hose, then on stage for them to say...and in FIRST PLACE....ALIKA!!!!!! He's been waiting for this day for YEARS, he said everyone is hugging him then looking at him like " OH gross"!!!! my poor baby girl , and my poor husband was soooo embarassed!!! We looked at each other & just laughed ....he said " Let's go home and take care of the real PRIZE." Tiki hugged her Daddy and ' Thank You Daddy".
