This was "Mama". I don't really have any other clever name than that. She is a Monk seal who is a Hawaiian seal who is be coming extinct. Went to the North Shore for a contest that Alika was to be in. the waves were REALLY BIG. but as much as we loved Alika and his performance, MAMA was the real star. she was there when we got there, and will probably be there couple days. she is 9 mos pregnant (according to a local lifeguard).
Tiki was running up to her all day thinking the baby would be coming
soon !! We all had to stay at least 10 ft away.. they are good biters
Early morning...sun not out yet, waves not UP completely yet (like they got later).
Our "boys" from the other side of town came to N. shore to surf the big waves.
Aunt
Keoko...Dino Miranda's love, my queen, and
Aunty Elke.
Alika caught one wave (THANK YOU GOD) I saw these
PRO'S who do this 7 days a week wiping out HARD and struggling with the WIND. Alika is a weekend surfer so to come to the famous SUNSET beach with the size of the waves and tremendous wind...I was glad he lost ( sorry love) but came out without a
wipe out. 5 guys boards broke in half due to the conditions. CRAZY.....
