YEEEAAAHHH......AAAWWWW

Today was a pretty big day for us...Alika just bought his new Paddle board and had a contest today. He went against a TOP waterman who designed and makes boards and paddles and SMOKED HIM!!! waves got up to 6-8 ft + when the tide came in. I was sooo happy for him, coming in 1st place. that was hardly the end of it. he advanced to another heat ( with guys who have no job other than to PRACTICE ALL DAY it looked ok, and he came in 4th ( out of 7 guys). really proud of him and tomorrow is continuation of the surf contest ( just regular surfing). we'll be rooting again all day tomorrow. We were given a hotel by a friend who wants to take care of Alika on the "BIG" contest July 27-29th. that was very cool. we live close the beach, but I guess we can feel like tourist :P

Nature's Best.

These beautiful leaves..not sure where there from, but i saw them , and how the colors just kept me in awe.
This almost looks funny with a "track" going through it. I wonder what kind of vehicle drives through the Forrest with a width span of what looks like 2 feet??!!!

I went snorkeling one time in the North Shore, and I promise...this was EXACTLY how it looked, and a turtle just like this floated ever so gently right next to me. The only difference was the turtle I saw slowly turned and looked at me for a minute and cruised off in the deeper water.

I've often thought of learning to Scuba dive after that experience...

COUSINS CRUSIN.....

We actually had "time off" from our baby girl!!! She went to sleep over Tianna's house.... they had soooo much fun. Tianna took her to a arcade...ice cream, and home for a bit of fun photo shoot.

I wish I could tell you that my hubby & I had a wild time...truth is, he's got two teeth that he's getting worked on, so he's on pain pills....but I HAD A WILD TIME!!! catching up on some reading....pretty wild I can be huh?! Anyway, they both can't wait to do it again...THIS TIME we will make the most of it...( oh, but we DID slow dance in the isles of WALMART ....ah life after kids!!!)

A Diamond out of the rough....

This is Isaac. He is 41/2 and is a little guy who is phenomenal at surfing already!!!! I always saw this little speck out in the big waves, and when he came on shore I saw he was as cute as a bug!!! of course him & Tiki hit it off. He left for Disney World couple of weeks ago and brought her back a bracelet ( that has mickey mouse ears on it ). They just hugged like they've been dear friends ( with a crush) forever!
One Day , I said Isaac, are you going to be my son-in-law one day? He has the cutest smile and said "Yeeesh"

Went surfing today, and was greeted by a big grin waving at me and it was Isaac. he said "Tiki's Mom??? come sit with me. I gladly went to sit & learn how a 4 year old catches waves ( by himself). He says " Tiki's mom, how old are you??!!" I said " OH HERE'S ONE, I'm gonna catch this wave" as he yells after me.." hooooow olllllllld arrrre yooooooooou??!

Part of our family......

Let me introduce to the newest member of the family. He is (men call their boats " SHES" ) anyway, HE is 11' 9" and is a stand up paddle board!! He's not a surfboard. He is to be riden standing up ( THAT IS THE CHALLENGING PART) and you have a long paddle (like a canoe paddle ,but with a extra long neck). Stand up paddling is HUGE right now, and of course my husband HAD TO HAVE IT! believe me , I'm extremely happy...it was that or a one man canoe ( that FITS ONE....gee , I wonder who that would BE..) so he got this instead, all 3 of us can cruise on it and catch waves, or him & Tiki or him & his boys....well , Alika has had a million dollar smile on his face all weekend. He DEFINITELY DESERVES IT!!!!

I'MMMMM BAAACCCKKK !!!!

ALOHA EVERYBODY....OMG!!!! My computer went down, and I didn't think much of it until about 4 days went....then going on 2 weeks!!! I've been very busy ( in my own way) but my husband said go get a new computer...so here we are...then last night I COULD NOT GET IT TO WORK!!!! ooh , the agony. Anyway, tossed and turned 3am and I remember a quote from a dear bloggers Dads advise ....its better to get things done instead of tossing & turning, either way you lose sleep. (Katie, I know that wasn't thee exact quote from your blog, but it was the right idea..thanks for the great advice Mr. B)

Instead of tossing & turning, I woke up at 3am, and called tech support..and IT WORKS!!!

WE MISS YOU GIRL....

This was a B-day party for my Swedish girlfriend Camilla ( 2nd from right..with all the lei's on). I actually stole this from her blog..I know she may look at mine , so I wanted to say "HI MILLA!!!!" Hope your enjoying Hannah ( how could you NOT?!) and we miss you.

Camilla will come home for 4 days an then off to FIJI for 2 months!! hmmm...I wanna come!!

My brother Tim recently told me that my cousin Donnie & his wife just had a baby!! I was told that they visit my page and I just want to SHOUT OUT A HUGE HELLO!!! and CONGRATULATIONS!!!! SOMETHING IN THE AIR......

Aaaahhh, remember THOSE DAYS???? As the days getting hotter, the work load gets lighter..the last week of school was thee best!!! Running errands this morning, then for a jump in the water, it's clear to see that school IS OUT!!! May all your kids have a SAFE and memorable summer!!!!

WHAT A DAY.....

At the end of the day...the awards are given out to all the participants of contest. "Uncle China" as kids know him , has raffle tickets to win boards and also has EXCEPTIONAL REPORT CARDS gets a free board. During all this hoopla..he then announces that he is giving a way a "blank" to this next person as being recognized as the new UP & COMING SURFER...TIKI!!!!!! I thought it was a JOKE!!! THE WHOLE BEACH SCREAMED FOR TIKI (with excitement). We went up to get this and he said with it comes a shaper & the TOP AIRBRUSH for all the big surfers to get her OWN design....I was flabbergasted! we were hoping to win a board with the raffles , but they gave her a board by recognition! I wanted to cry. She put it on top of her head and didn't want to put it down! So here it is.....I will take a picture of the "FINISHED PRODUCT" and post it then. wow....as a parent I was so happy for her...oh yeah, he also announced next year they have added on a "NOVICE DIVISION".....YES!! NOW I HAVE A CHANCE!! :)

DAY ONE

These beautiful girls were all playing on this board for HOURS! all 3 went out to catch waves and Tiki stood up while the other two lied down and paddled ( doing all the hard work!). Then they took turns by themselves I would push them on a wave..they just had a blast. Tiki said to me after being at the beach for few hours..."I had sooo much fun today Mom!" I told her it's just starting!

Tiki with all the um...boys. ( just like mommy ) 3 of these boys are the son of a popular ( to the surf world) pro surfer. Tony Moniz is still a big wave rider and ALL 5 of his kids are SOOO GOOOD!!!

Home now & She sleeping, Dad working for a few hours ( O.T. is soo helpful :), when she awakes, mommy and baby will go have some dinner, and cruise around.

great day. by the way, I FINALLY rode my board today and I no longer need the BIG BOARD just to catch a wave. I told my girlfriends who are in today's contest...NEXT YEAR, I WILL BE HERE IN THE CONTEST.... so I have sort of a goal. I know it's not the best goal, but it's my PHYSICAL GOAL!!!

BEACH PARTY IS ON !!!!

Today is China's ( guy in white tank top ) big surf contest. all weekend. This weekend is the "GIRLS". In July its the boys. China has been doing this for many years...every year donates all the money to Children's causes ( sexual abuse, dying kids , etc ) He also gives the best prizes to the LOSERS...so you win either way...you either get the "Goods" or you get the notoriety of coming in 1st place. He also gives a child who gets the BEST report card a FREE SURFBOARD (of your choice) these boards are all at least $900.00. He feels very strong about education! so back for more excitement this weekend. My husband left the house ( @5am) to go set up our tent ( our beachfront property). So , Aloha for now and I show the pictures later!!
