A Thelma & Louise Day.........

Today I was OFF!!! A Friday off , and my friend Camilla off...oh we can do some DAMAGE....sort of. We tend to take for granted the weather, things to do, so we had one of those days that we needed to play....
Dropped off Tiki at school....buh bye!
we got some coffee & headed to the North Shore!!! Laughing,, making monkey sounds..ooh ooh...okay, so that was ME making the monkey sounds....ITS FRIDAY, AND I'M OFF & NO KIDS!!!! Camilla is joining in laughing, cars next to us thinking...hmmm WHAT are they ON!! We shop...and shop, and shop...did I mention we shopped??
They have such cute stores, sundresses, clothes that they don't have in my neck of the woods....then went to Jamisons on the beach , had lunch...here's our view!

We went to Pipeline to lay out, waves were 2 to 3 ft. within hours they got bigger 6-8. They're is a big contest there tomorrow so all the pro surfers were there practicing.

Camilla & I were taking a picture of the water then at the same time looked at each other to capture THIS!

Here's a shot of the waves getting bigger. looks small from here , but when someone surfed it .....it sure looks bigger.

Not a bad day at all....sometimes when things are ALWAYS good ( in our case the weather) you tend to "forget" that we're sooo lucky! you expect it and I needed today to be grateful....have a awesome weekend...

Okay, the book that was nearest me was the PHONE BOOK....not much entertainment there, so I searched near me and found a book that Alika & I bought while we were going to PRE-MARTIAL CLASSES ( through church).

When I opened it to the page & sentence it said this:
" To identify the real source of a conflict, you must address the questions "What are we REALLY quarreling about?" and "What is the real source of our disagreement?" When couples do not address or cannot answer these questions, the quarrel is often displaced to another topic...be sure to know what your fighting about!"

We enjoyed these classes, and the homework was kinda fun!!

CATCHING UP.......

Well Hi everybody!!! It's been along time since I wrote....quite a few things going on. First, my job has been taking some twists & turns. Someone quit the "bad" "gang" school ( I don't blame her ) and they asked ME to be a long term sub at that school. I declined. Not because I want to be a difficult employee....but because I want to LIVE!!! It's a High School which I'm REALLY not interested in...because no one wants it, I was informed that we would ALL have to take turns and rotate. I understand that, but It sure puts a damper on my spirit.

This weekend, met fellow blogger Vonnie & her husband Tom....very nice! I feel like I've known them or they are long distant relatives!!!! Didn't get to spend as much time I I would have liked, but hopefully they can visit again!!! ( by the way, how was the boatride??!!)

If I remember correctly Scott was for Indiana Colts.....I always wanted " The BEARS!". Now they will be in the superbowl. BEARS , BEARS BEARS!!!!

I will celebrate my ONE year Anniversary on superbowl....(we got married one day before the superbowl). I'm not one of those who NEEDS to have that be just " OUR" day....I love to be treated like a queen, but there is a time and a PLACE for that...and man I just looooove football, so we can celebrate it the Friday night or Sat nite BEFORE!!

My girl has not stopped talking.....Vonnie I know your thinking "gee, she didn't say much", but believe me! Alika & I keep looking at each other like " aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh hellllllllp me"!!!

We'll see what work brings me in the coming weeks....I sure am NOT looking forward to it.
Honey, I want to stay hooooommee! :( ah, my poor husband has to put up with me!

Continuation of Fridays day off with her....

Well if you've read my previous post , I said when I could finish Fridays day off with some pix my friend Camilla took...

Her FIRST SURFBOARD!! Alika's friend from work was like "Take this junk board off my back".
It is PERFECT for her!!

I just took her to a beach that had no waves ( due to reef way out). Its more like a lake. So I figured take her to Ala Moana. I WANTED to use it to paddle around for exercise..until she saw me....she wanted to do it.. She climed on top ( without slipping off) and just paddled away from me with extreme ease & grace. She is super excited she has her own board!!







Then she was ready for a snack & nap!

This is for my family in Kentucky ( who I am just NOW getting to know...better late than never!) Tiki is 2 mos. old in this photo.
and here she is at 1 yrs. old....those pink high top converse were so cute on.

sorry about the glare...I don't have a scanner and I'm taking a picture of a picture so I can blog...if anyone knows a way ( besides scanning ) let me know.

AS I SIT AT BREAKFAST WITH MY FRIEND & DAUGHTER......

My husband is working VERY HARD!!!!

Today Tiki was off school, so was I, my girlfriend was off as well. We all went for breakfast and right in the middle of it, Alika calls to say he ripped his pants & needs another pair!! I advise him , I'm right in the middle of breakfast,can he wait and then I'll come? Sure. we all go back to my place, grab new pair of jeans...only to find when I pull up, that he is DIRECTING TRAFFIC, and his jeans are ripped from the....shall we say "zipper" to his KNEE....WIDE OPEN!!! I was like "You just LOVE IT that your directing traffic!! "so me & my girlfriend start throwing dollar bills at him... he gets very red in the face...then he jumps in this contraption...which I'VE NEVER SEEN, he's always up high doing Electric...so Tiki was excited to see him in this....I go WAIT!!! I bust out my camera & he's politely trying to pose, but at the same time, NOT IN FRONT OF THE GUYS!!......men!!
Our day didn't stop there, I will post when I get the other pictures!

Okay, so I wasn't actually PLAYING GOLF with them....and they're sort of NOT REALLY MY FRIENDS....but they could be!! truth is Alika is working at the Sony Open and got me & my nephew Hakau in to watch. I've played golf, it's VERY boring if you don't do well. because I'm soooo inconstant...I don't take well to the game. I certainly cannot watch golf on t.v. ( it's as exciting as watching glue dry) but when your THERE...it's alot better. You feel for player when the ball goes in the water or sand pit..and when they WHACK it and it FLIES.....it's pretty exciting to everybody. Missed you TIGER!!

Her yearly physical......

You don't realize the changes that happen right under your very own eyes...until you "see" the numbers in writing. Tiki has grown shy of 5" in one year....and lately when I hold her or carry her do I notice how long she seems.
I tell her she's my Baby, and with insult in her voice she barks back "MOM!! I"M NOT A BABY ANYMORE!!!". I know this....I see what everybody keeps warning me about..."Don't blink, or you'll miss it all". I'm scared...I realize shes only 3 ( to all who is reading) but I promise you.....
to us.....she doesn't "need" us like she did when she was young...her independent is a part of growing, sometimes a bit annoying.....but the truth is....

she's getting soo big.




I miss my "Little baby".

Good day.....

Today was a gorgeous day!!! The only bummer of it was Tiki was to get her 3 yr. physical & shots!! went to the doc...he said NO SHOTS TODAY!!! yeah.... we walked around the mall & got cookies from the "Cookie Corner" ( THEE BEST!!)
and then were off the see "Charlotte's Web". We get our usual popcorn...and it really was a CUTE MOVIE. ya know by today's standards it would be considered boring without any cursing, nudity, & car's blowing up...but I loooooved that NONE of that was in it!!! Tiki & I had lunch, and she KNEW this was "mommy, daughter thang goin on". Just walking to go to the next place, she holding my hand would look up at me and just smile....she said "Mom, that was a gooood movie, yeah?!" then she quickly adds.."Mom! that's MY PIG!!!" As we got in the car, turn the air on ( yes it IS 85 degrees today) she gently drifted off in a comfortable slumber. Now it's my turn....
