WHEN A STRANGER COMES ALONG.....

Today at 5:30am I can hear Alika's truck in the driveway...TRYING to start. After 10 minutes ( and probably ticked off neighbors) he gave up. He called in, we took daughter to school, fixed the truck and off to the beach for some stand up paddling.

The best part was when BOTH of us went on the same board, trying to balance,. caught a wave ( we were sitting as though were in a kayak now) and took it all the way in.! It was soo fun. Then I said "you sit in front, I'll stand up" we did it, he stood up and all of a sudden our friend Lance surfing right next to us jumped off HIS board and onto OURS!!!

Now all 3 of us (on ONE board) riding the wave. It was very cool!!

When we came in a lovely couple from London was talking with me,and after some time, went there way. about an hour later she came by my tent to say "nice to chat with you" then she said " Have a splendid life". As she walked away, I thought what a different way to say goodbye to someone. She knew she would never see me again, and could of easily just said "buh, bye". but a SPLENDID LIFE??!!! I wanted to cry. to me it was soo REAL. and wishful for me....so , I think at the advise of a complete stranger...I will CONTINUE TO HAVE A SPLENDID LIFE!!!!

ANOTHER YEAR.....

Yes, I had yet another birthday! I don't know whether to scream about it or just be very grateful that I had another year. I choose to be grateful!!!!! My husband had put together a group of us and went

Our dearest friends Michael & Tami joined us...then when the bill came to Alika, waiter said it was taken care of......hmmmmmm. Thank you guys, your way too generous!!!!
My sister and her boy ( MAN) Hakau...he began football practice and the kid is 14 and wearing size 36 waist!!! and he's ALL MUSCLE!!! I can't wait for the season to begin....

Hakau, Sione, and Tiki. After went to Dave & Buster's ( a HUGE video arcade for kids and BIG KIDS!!). Now, I believe after THAT dinner, I'm a size 36...and there ain't no muscle here...so I need to fast for a week or two......hee hee...

POWER RANGERS......

Tiki and her cousin Carlos ( who moved to Utah and is town visiting). They just adore each other, and he taught her to do some moves.

INDIANA JONES'.......

Today went to Bishop Museum with Tiki's school. They have a wonderful display of Hawaiian Artifacts, (which is something I've wanted to see since I moved here.) UNFORTUNATELY it was closed for remodeling/upkeep, blah, blah (I can't see what I've heard about for soooo long :(....
But the kids did get to see an exhibition on VOLCANOES!!! This teacher is explaining BIG words ( and losing there attention span FAST) suddenly........there is RUMBLING, AND NOISE GOING ON...

The kids get curious.....whipping their heads in the direction as the teacher is saying " eyes on ME!" Hell, I WAS TURNING AROUND!

It was this volcano that shoots water up ( WITH SOUND AS THOUGH WE WERE IN THE MIDST OF ONE).... What did the kids DO????!!!!!

SCREAMED AND RAN!!!! whose brilliant idea was this that would make the kids tooooo scared. It was great to learn about Volcanoes....but not to sure they treasured the EFFECTS!!!

lost all my kids ( we all did) who were suppose to hold hands....couldn't wait to go home and watch a little T.V. That's about all it was ...a little t.v. we fell asleep fast!! After all, we did just escape a Volcano :)

JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS......

I know everyone feels this from time to time.....today is my day.

What a Catch!!!

Well, she didn't catch this....someone else did, but she HAD TO HOLD IT, this is a Papio. good eating. this fish has 2 or three names...its a Papio fish till a certain pounds, then is called a Ulua. only in Hawaii....My famliy & friends who live in Kentucky...this is a example of the abundance of fishing that can be done here...WITHOUT A PERMIT!!

The differences between boys and girls.....

Alika has 2 boys 16 & 13. He laughs when his little girl wants to brush his hair!!!!

Of course he's not complaining, next comes..."massage my back please honey"..MEN.

Just a normal Wednesday.....

Today was suppose to be a BIG DAY for Tiki. She had a audition for a commercial! But there was a small catch..they wanted her DAD TO COME TOO. ( By the way this was couple weeks ago...) I laughed, cuz I knew EXACTLY how Alika was going to feel about this. It went like this:

Me: "Hi hon, guess what?! Tiki has a audition for a commercial"

Alika: "REALLY?! COOL"

Me: "It gets better....YOU HAVE TO AUDITION WITH HER"

(all I hear, is the sound of crickets...)

Me:" HELLO?!"

Alika:"ME? ohhhhh, why?!...(now he hears crickets..) OK, I'LL DO IT FOR TIKI!"

Anyway, they went and he came back telling me how it went....it was a health commercial about "Clear the smoke". The director said "your going to feed her a bowl of cereal ( but in the commercial the premise is "WOULD YOU FEED A BOWL OF CIGARETTES TO YOUR CHILD?")

Alika said the first spoonful, he gave it to her...and he was like " do you like it?". He said she couldnt answer, but nodded.

I said "why couldn't she answer?" he said "cuz I fed her such a huge spoonful , her eyes popped out". he said she stayed in character, like "yeah Daddy, it's yummy" ( with just her nod) he began to laugh. I was like "ALIKA!"

He said the director was like "this time, just give her a LITTLE BIT"(very disappointed)

It was pretty funny, and so typical of my dear husband...he was more nervous than her! Anyway, they had fun, we didn't get a call back. Today was the day they were filming the commercial. While my husband lays on the couch sleeping in pain ( he had dental surgery ), and Tiki is playing in school....everyone is exactly where they should be. Tomorrow is another day!

Just a LITTLE CRUSH.....

Not sure what made me think about it....but I DID. so I thought I'd share.

My dad used to work on Trapper John M.D. Everytime my dad would work on a new show, my favorite part was finding out WHO was in it!!! ( my next favorite thing was "reading" the script ...)

Anyway, when I first found out he was going to work on that show...I was HIGHLY dissapointed!!!

They were NO YOUNG GUYS MY AGE...and it looked as though he was set to work on this for YEARS....AAHHHHH.

As usual....when I could ( my Dad preferred when they were on "Location"...I always preferred when they filmed on the LOT because I'd always "cruise" around and see many, many stars!! and eating at the commissary was a GUARANTEE to see top celebs!!)

Anyway, back to this boring story :)....I went for the first time, and hours later Gregory Harrison emerged from his trailor. Never did I think he was cute, look able...Until he looked at me with those BLUE EYES, smiled , and introduce himself to ME!!! ( that was unusual for most celebs back then..) I think I turned bright RED....and fell MADLY IN LOVE ( come on I was like 16....). He was just sooo unlike most. He was actually HOT!! He talked of his surfing, which I ONLY pictured surfers to be blond, YOUNGER, dumb... Needless to say, I had a bit (BIG BIT) of a kiddie crush on him fast!

I recently seen "Au Pair" a kiddie movie he did and those memories of his sweet smile and my face turning completely red came back....wonder what Gregory Harrison is doing these days??!!

Sand surfing. weather kinda overcast most of the day. Kids didn't swim much. They found a new thing...have everyone pull them around the beach whipping them all over until they fall off. Adults were having fun just watching this. course we ALL had to take turns ( these munchkins are HEAVY).

RUMOR: Someone "said" they got a picture of me surfing...if I don't look 200lbs and my tongue hanging out with a FRIGHT NIGHT look on my face....you can have a peek....

had a great time surfing with about 8 girls . It really makes me feel like a kid...I am surfing with REALLY talented girls, every time I thought I was doing great, I look next to me & they're going off the lip, in a tube....I said HELLO, I NEED TO PICK IT UP A NOTCH. I always heard our Pastor say....if your going to DO ANYTHING ..follow or mimic thee BEST, it will make YOU BETTER!!! You pick up greatness instead of mediocrity (is that spelled right? well you know what I mean!)

Alika didn't win his heat, the waves got humongous and he was the captain of the canoe rides ( for the tourist) and I just couldn't fathom why people would pay for such a terrifying experience!!!
