Cheerleading Blues........

This weekend is a contest strictly for my husband. Yep, doing his stand-up paddle surfing. There IS A SLIGHT ....umm, I don't know if you call it problem. I just went on a weather forecast online only to find that tomorrow the waves will be 10-12 ft....15-20 FACE!! (the face is the front or drop of the wave) I have been with Alika a long time and seen him surf ALOT. I have NEVER seen him on waves THAT BIG!!! My inner fear is not that he can't do it. I've just never seen him do it so I've gotta little...okay, a HUGE anxiety issue going on. He said hes not worried about the size, but the winds will be pretty heavy which could create a bumpy, choppy ride. keep ya posted, hopefully I can take a pix or something.

A GIFT...TO ME.

As I drove into work this morning , listening to Christmas music on the radio, I think of WONDERFUL childhood memories....and for some reason NEW YORK!! Never been there, always wanted to...especially during THIS season!!! It reminded me of a Director friend of mine who was going there to film a movie...."ahhh, I've always wanted to go there", I declared. He paused and said " Then GO". VERY SIMPLE. That's his personality...GET IT DONE, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING. and of course my personality is thoughts running through my mind of the "HOW'S" . Money, kid...etc...its not sooo EASY just to say "Then Go". But this morning, for some odd reason his words spoke to me. I COULD GO! IT JUST TAKES TIME TO SAVE, DISCIPLINE, BUT IT IS NOT UNREACHABLE!!! so I've decided I will make a NYC jar...and put aside a certain amount of money so that we CAN GO ONE XMAS...and QUIT "TALKING " ABOUT IT!! If i had a penny for every time I've told someone I wanted to go there. or at least start saving since I say I want it soooo bad, I could of been there a dozen times!! SO! My present to me....IS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!! I am ALIVE!! there is NO other reason not to see dreams come true!

a little groggy.....

Today, I feel like this!!! This morning @ 3:30AM

I woke to violent noise...a HUGE domestic fight right in our apt. complex!!!! At first it was alot of wrestling noises, until a girl starts SCREAMING. Alika & I shot out of bed to find the guy she hitting him. Alika wanted to run out there .I was telling him to get in the house. we called the cops. The guy had busted both her car windows. He ran BEFORE the cops got there...chicken ****!!!!

She's yelling after him. we got inside and just sat in the dark and Alika held me. He felt so bad ( she was being talked to by the cops). Then as we sat there...in the dark he looked at me and his eyes got big and said "HE RAN OFF WITH HER KEYS" I said "I know , that sucks". he said "No love,wecan't get OUR CARS OUT....how we gonna get coffee in the morning!" OMG!! NOW I'M PISSED.

I wanted to go chase that friker DOWN!!! I felt bad for the girl..but now I had to say something to the cops! "Excuse me, I know this might seem insensive, but if he took the keys, we cannot use our cars". cop kinda smirked. "hopefully she has a spare". uurrrrr. after being waken , now cannot sleep. finally after a hr. I told hubby, "I'm going back to bed!" Just as I was to dose off....her car alarm went OFF!!! God, how I longed to be in the suburbs ANYWAY with NO NOISE!!! I did finally go back to sleep to wake to coffee, breakfast and the newspaper from my husband!!!!

Went to a birthday party ( he turned 14) and my girl could NOT stay out of T-R-O-U-B-L-E !!!!!

A terrible weakness. I should be talking about the long walks, jogging (that hasn't happened for weeeeeks). but noooooo. I'm thinking of my favorite dessert! We regularly go to BIG CITY DINER ...and I like to share a dinner with my husband ( unfortunatley he never wants to share...he's too hungry). I prefer to share so I save room for the REAL reason I'm there!!!

Vanilla bean ice cream, whip cream and two brownies that are warm, with a drizzle of chocolate sauce!!! Yes, this is one of the main reasons I'm not fit. I know the cause, I know the effect....but I just cannot go tooooo long before I'm back to get one! (This , we all share). Next time your in Hawaii , visit a Big City Diner and see for yourself!!

FAMILY SECRET......

Besides pretending WE were the "Partridge Family", there was another silly thing we used to "play". We would take turns being Merv Griffin and interview each other ( of us siblings). My sister used to be Merv alot!! I would choose my favorite actress, and she would ask me all kinds of questions ( as though I was really this person). I think at that time I was a Kristy McNichol fan ("Family") and I always was her being interviewed by my sister Merv!! ha ha ha ha. And then we'd switch. I now was Merv, and my sister always was Stevie Nicks!!!!

TIKI AND THE GANGS SURF CONTEST THIS WEEKEND....

All the kids are sooo BUMMED!!! They have postponed this contest before and this weekend it was ON!!! Even though we live 10 minutes to the beach we TRIED to get a Hotel on the beach, just to make it an family event!!

Got the call. THANK GOD WE DIDN'T SPEND HUNDREDS getting a Hotel!!!!

Tiki was clearly upset, until I diverted her attention to the fact that we can STILL come & surf AND celebrate her friend Tenaya's 6th B-Day and her other surf buddy ( who she's going to marry ) Isaac's 5th B-day.

Cupcakes, Party....The surf contest is already forgotten.

Meloncholy Monday......

This morning I woke up with one. I try not to feel as though anything I've done I have regrets....because I'm a FIRM BELIEVER OF GOD, and everything is for a reason and as it "should be". But this ONE, I feel GOD had his hand on it , and I stubbornly

ignored it!! That's why it bothers me from time to time! After dreaming of my regret (as I have many times), I wake this morning with heavy sighs, and a rainy day. It usually takes a good day or two to finally let it go......

The rain will fade, and so will the regret......for now.

GLAD I DIDN'T SEE IT !!!!

I forgot to mention that last weekend Alika had taken his paddle board out ( the BIG surfboard with a paddle). He didn't go out any further than he always does and told me he felt "Little bumps" under his board. He looked around to find he was in the middle of a bait ball. He thought it was cool, until he SAW THE SHARK besides it!! He said it was only 5 feet. THAT'S ALL. yiiiikkkess!! He told the people surfing not to freak out, but there is a 5 ft shark & bait ball right next to them. HE SAID THEY ALL FREAKED OUT & GOT OUT. everyone but him...he's just way too cool (crazy, cool...call it what you will)

As time approaches...my baby is going to be only 4 years old !!!! I feel as though I've known her my whole life!!! Not just a few years!!

sometimes I think she has such an "old soul".

she likes all the cartoons like kids her age like, but she throws me off when were out to breakfast and starts singing " I am 16 , going on 17....." ( From Sound of Music ) and the waitress turns around and giggles to say " SHE KNOWS THAT SONG?! "

Whats even scarier, she KNOWS ME SO WELL!!! hmmm, is there such a thing as reincarnation?!

Big week for her...I'm glad she has confidence, but sometimes it drives me nuts!

Hakau (sister's middle child...MY BABY) ( SIONE IS MY BABY TOO, BUT AS A CHILD HAKAU ALWAYS WANTED TO BE WITH ME!!) He is kicking but in football and going out for baseball. He gave me away at my wedding ( In lieu of my father who's gone) and that was 2 years ago.....since then he's grown 2 feet and 100 lbs of solid muscle!! He too is going to be PLAYING ON SUNDAYS!!!! (FOOTBALL)
